At Home With Themselves

Intimate portraits by photographer Sage Sohier of engaged homosexual couples in the 1980s. Sohier produced images that countered contemporary media representations of the "gay lifestyle", images that exposed some of the roots of the current movement for marriage equality. The 122-page softcover book includes 56 black and white photographs, extensive interviews with the couples by the photographer, and an essay by Hunter O'Hanian, director of the Leslie-Lohman Museum of Gay and Lesbian Art. An authentic masterpiece of LGBTQ+ documentary photography.
